The Office of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan has issued a statement, Report says.
"Some participants of the march, who gathered before the Alley of Martyrs and the Milli Majlis to support the battles in Tovuz regions of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border illegally entered the parliament building at night. The marchers gathered on the first floor of the Milli Majlis, destroyed some parts, and damaged the Parliament's property and inventory. Law enforcement officers called on protesters to leave the building, and they were removed from the Parliament's administrative structure. Then the Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova familiarized with the situation on the spot:
"As the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we express respect and sensitivity to the march in support of our people, state, and army. We strongly condemn some provocateurs aimed at destruction and damage, while our citizens, who marched to support the military, united for a cause. Illegal entry into the building of the supreme legislative body of the state and to commit destructions is disrespectful to the holy spirit of the martyrs and is unacceptable.
We emphasize the importance of exceptional sensitivity and caution when fierce fighting is underway in the Tovuz direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and everyone is united.
As the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, we are responsible before the spirit of our people, our state, Army, service members, and civilians killed in battles for our country's territorial integrity. "
