Head of Working Group: Statement by Lithuanian MFA has no legal basis

"The statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania has no legal basis and is quite far from reality," the head of the Working Group for the Azerbaijani-Lithuanian Interparliamentary Relations, MP Nasib Mahamaliyev, told Report.

According to him, the ministry's statement shows the traces of the Armenian diaspora and the lobby organizations that support them: "The point is that there is an Armenian diaspora and an organized network lobbying them all over the world. For more than 100 years, they have been spreading misleading information about false claims of genocide and false great Armenia."

The head of the working group noted that the vile campaign is being openly waged not only against Azerbaijan but also against Turkiye: "The reason for this is the independent policy pursued by the leadership of the fraternal country. Similar "surprises" in relation to Turkiye, Azerbaijan, and Islam are not unexpected. But international law and justice are on the side of the Azerbaijani people. I can confidently say that even Lithuania does not pursue such a completely independent policy. They carry out the tasks of some Western institutions. Therefore, their statements have no basis, and we do not accept them."
