Work is underway to digitize information about Western Azerbaijani, Fuad Huseynov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Azerbaijan for Affairs of Refugees and IDPs, said during a hearing on the safe and dignified return to Western Azerbaijan, held in Milli Majlis, Report informs.
Huseynov mentioned that the process of collecting documents from archive funds and personal archives has started. These documents confirm the previous residence of Azerbaijanis deported from Armenia and include identity and property documents, among others.
He stated, "Work has begun on systematizing documents based on territorial principle and creating a unified archive fund. A relevant commission has been established in the committee for this purpose. Efforts are being made to digitize information and present it through an electronic domain. We confidently state that the day when the return to Western Azerbaijan becomes a reality is not far away."
