The Azerbaijani Parliament has adopted Article 368-1 annexed to the Code of Administrative Offenses, which aims to fine those who change the IMEI number of phones 12,000 manats ($7,000) in the first reading, Report informs.
According to the new article, individuals will be fined from 300 to 400 manats (from $176 to $234), officials from 1,000 to 1,500 manats (from $587 to $881), and legal entities from 3,000 to 4,000 manats (from $1,762 to $2,349) for changing or transferring a copy of the IMEI number of a mobile device to avoid registration of a mobile device.
For the repeated commission of the above-mentioned offense by the person who received an administrative sanction within one year from the date of entry into force of the decision to impose an administrative sanction, individuals will be fined in the amount of 600 to 800 manats (from $352 to $469), officials from 2,000 to 2,500 manats (from $1,175 to $1,469), and legal entities from 9,000 to 12,000 manats (from $5,287 to $7,049).
The bill will enter into force on April 1, 2023.
