Azerbaijan postpones co-financing mandatory health insurance

The application of co-financing mandatory health insurance in Azerbaijan has been postponed for another year, Report informs.

In this regard, it is proposed to amend the law on Health Insurance.

The application of this co-financing was previously expected to come into effect on January 1, 2022.

Thus, when applying for medical services under mandatory health insurance to a state medical institution outside the territorial medical unit, where the insured person was sent to receive directly outpatient, laboratory, functional and diagnostic medical services without applying for primary medical sanitary assistance, from January 1, 2023, the insured will pay the amount of co-financing.

The draft amendments to the law were put to the vote and adopted in the first reading.
