Azerbaijan introduces new penalties for forcing international organizations to any action

Baku. 9 October. REPORT.AZ/ New penalties may be imposed for illegal use of radioactive materials in Azerbaijan.

Report informs that the Criminal Code is changed in this regard.

According to annexed article #226.3 of the Criminal Code, threatening by plundering radioactive materials in order to force any legal entity or individual, state body or international organization to do anything or deviate from doing anything will be punished with correctional works of up to 2 years or restriction of freedom up to 3 years, or sentencing to three-year in prison.

The use of radioactive materials for the purpose of threatening with serious injury or substantial damage to property is punishable by 3 to 5 years of imprisonment or restriction of freedom from 3 to 5 years.

The project will be discussed at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis in the coming days.
