"For 23 days, Russia's military aggression against the Ukrainian people continues, a full-scale war is going on against us all, and we believe that the war is not just against the Ukrainian people, but against humanity, against civilization. We are a free people, we did not attack anyone, we did not attack our neighbors. For 8 years, a war [propaganda] has been waged against us, and for 23 days, a full-scale war has been waged against our people," Chairman of the Zhytomyr Regional Council MP Volodymyr Fedorenko said this in an interview with the East European Bureau of Report.
According to him, about 40 civilians were killed in Zhytomyr region: “Among them are small children whose limbs were torn off by shrapnel. This is a great tragedy and it is beyond words. Dozens of bombs dropped in our region hit infrastructure facilities - schools, hospitals. We are grateful to the Azerbaijani people and the Azerbaijani president for their support, we know that he is negotiating to end this war as soon as possible."
The chairman of the Rada stressed that the more people take to the streets, the more people support, the more people condemn what Russia is doing in the XXI century, the stronger the people of Ukraine will become. "Because after the collapse of the Soviet Union, frozen conflicts remain, one of which is today on the territory of Ukraine".
According to him, today there is an inhuman war against the Ukrainian people, against the whole nation.
"Today, Muslims, Jews, Orthodox, Christians, Baptists and representatives of other confessions are fighting for Ukraine, they are defending their Motherland. You see how Mariupol is being shelled, it is impossible to put into words. You went through this in the 1990s of the last century. And today, when it's been 30 years now and every country should think about how to treat its neighbors with respect, Russia is behaving blackguardly. The war, unfortunately, is still going on. But we are getting stronger, we are a proud people. We are fighting evil and we will definitely defeat this evil. We are grateful to all the peoples of the world who support us today. And they support us not only in words, but also in deeds. But sympathy alone is not enough, and we turn to all the peoples of the world for help, so that everyone can help us in any way they can," V. Fedorenko added.
