SBS chief: New military units will protect significant part of state border with Armenia

"After the restoration of the territorial integrity of our country and the liberation of state borders from occupation, consistent measures are taken to create the necessary border defense and security infrastructure in these territories under the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev," Chief of the State Border Service (SBS), Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev said at the opening of two new military units of the SBS in Gubadli and Lachin regions, Report informs.

He stressed that the launch of new military units as a part of the work implemented is another appearance of the high attention paid to protecting the state border.

The head of the State Border Service said that the launch of new military units, which will be responsible for protecting a significant part of the state border with Armenia, is of particular importance.

The Colonel-General stressed that the Azerbaijani border guards, who successfully performed their combat missions in the Patriotic War and continue to ensure the inviolability of our sacred borders, will always fulfill the task of protecting the territorial boundaries of our country.
