Number of Special Forces increased twofold after Second Karabakh War

"Armenia, the Armenian armed forces begin to tremble when they hear the name of the Azerbaijani special forces," President Ilham Aliyev said, speaking to the personnel of the Defense Ministry's Special Forces Unit N on April 30 on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the establishment of the Special Forces.

"This fear in their lives has not and will not come out. We do not want war. We have achieved what we wanted. We have restored historical justice. We have fulfilled our civil duty with honor. But we must always be vigilant because revanchist forces still exist in Armenia. There are those in Armenia who still make territorial claims against Azerbaijan. After the Second Karabakh War, additional funds were allocated for army building," the head of state said.

"Now, I do not want to say anything about the number. But I can say that after the Second Karabakh War, the number of Special Forces has been increased twofold," the Azerbaijani leader said.
