The operation in the Hadrut settlement in the Khojavand district demonstrated that the Azerbaijani army is capable of fulfilling assigned tasks in any conditions and on any terrain, military expert Azer Bayramov told Report.
He noted that the liberation of Hadrut and other heights dispelled the widespread myth in Armenia that the Azerbaijani army would supposedly be stopped in difficult terrain.
The expert noted that the Hadrut operation became one of the turning points in the course of the Patriotic War.
"An Armenian motorized rifle division was stationed here, guarding the southern front of Karabakh. This area can be called the gateway to Karabakh. Thanks to effective tactics and maneuvers, the Azerbaijani army penetrated deep into the enemy's army. After the liberation of the district from occupation, the Armenian motorized rifle division's regiment located in Jabrayil was concentrated in Hadrut. The destruction of this division's headquarters and the transfer of strategic heights under the control of the Azerbaijani army created an advantage for further operations, during which other mountainous regions of Karabakh were also liberated," the expert added.
