Azerbaijani MoD: Armenia tries to aggravate situation on state border

From the evening of June 2 to the early hours of June 3, the Armenian Armed Forces fired at the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of Zeylik and Yellija settlements of Kalbajar district from the positions in Yukhari and Ashagi Shorja settlements of Basarkechar region using grenades and large-calibre weapons, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry told Report.

"Retaliatory measures have been undertaken by the Azerbaijan Army Units.

"No losses among the personnel and military equipment of the Azerbaijan Army have been recorded.

"Currently, the Azerbaijan Army Units control the operational situation in all directions.

"The Armenian side is attempting to aggravate the situation on the state border by using large-caliber weapons in order to divert the attention of the Armenian public from internal processes.

"We declare that the entire responsibility for the consequences of provocations committed by the opposing side falls on the military-political leadership of this country," the ministry said in a statement.
