On January 24, Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov met with a delegation led by the Director-General of the Department for Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs Marja Liivala, who is on a working visit to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Defense told Report.
Welcoming the guests, the defense minister briefed them on the work done in the territories liberated after the Patriotic War Victory under the leadership of President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, as well as the situation on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
Colonel-General Hasanov said that Azerbaijan-Finland military cooperation was successfully implemented within the NATO Partnership for Peace Program.
Liivala stressed the importance of further developing links between Finland and Azerbaijan.
The sides exchanged views on relations between the two countries, strengthening peace and stability in the region, as well as other issues of interest.
