Gulamov Teymur Emin, the commander of the special-purpose artillery battery in the presidential brigade of Ukraine, is originally from the Astara district of Azerbaijan. He was born and raised in Kyiv, graduated from the Higher Military School in Ukraine, and was promoted to the position of battery commander in the presidential brigade due to his discipline and remarkable performance. His battery is currently performing the most decisive tasks in the direction of the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. At the same time, Teymur founded a humanitarian fund and is also one of the main organizers in finding or burying the missing or dead Azerbaijani soldiers in the Ukrainian war.
In a conversation with Report's Eastern European Bureau in Donbas, Teymur Gulamov said that he has been serving in Bakhmut for about a year: “When the enemy attempted to break through the flanks, we repelled them.”
He emphasized that he served in the hottest spots: "The enemy has come to occupy our territories. I must defend Ukraine, where I was born. Azerbaijan and Ukraine had common problems, and Azerbaijan solved them. Ukraine will solve them too."
Gulamov said that they recently established a charity fund called "Strong Hopes of Ukraine."
"The purpose of this fund is to help restore buildings damaged on the territory of Ukraine. We are talking about buildings in Bucha, Hostomel, and other areas. People left these places. We also saw how buildings were destroyed in Bakhmut. People had no place to stay. That's why we decided to help the construction work," he added.
He wished the Armed Forces of Ukraine endurance in battles: "We will defeat the enemy. A large number of Azerbaijanis are fighting in Ukraine. There are Azerbaijanis in my unit. Our Azerbaijani brothers also lost their lives in the battles and went missing. I am trying to find them all. The funeral of the late Tarlan was recently held. We have been searching for him for a long time."
Gulamov's soldiers say that they achieved considerable success under the leadership of the Azerbaijani commander. Soldier Serhiy Serhiyiv says that under the command of Gulamov, they served in various directions and inflicted serious losses on the enemy: "A lot of interesting things can be said about our commander, Gulamov. All of us are satisfied with his command and the work he has done. He volunteered to serve as an infantryman and is now an officer. There are always positive opinions about him. He is an Azerbaijani soldier who is on the same level as Ukrainians. In general, we have achieved good results under his command. He fulfills his obligations as a commander, and most importantly, we get results. I believe that we will destroy all the enemies."
