The Azerbaijani army launched retaliatory fire in the direction of the units of the Armenian Armed Forces, which shelled Azerbaijan's positions, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense told Report.
The ministry's statement followed rumors disseminated in the Armenian media about the shelling by the Azerbaijani army of the positions of the Armenian armed forces in the direction of the settlement of Yukhara Shorja in the Basarkechar district.
"Retaliatory fire was launched in the direction of the units of the Armenian Armed Forces that shelled the positions of the Azerbaijani army," the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
It added that "our units will continue to take adequate response measures."
