Azerbaijan, Turkey discuss prospects for development of military-technical ties

Azerbaijani Defense Industry Minister Madat Guliyev received a large delegation led by the Chairman of the Turkish Defense Industry Committee Ismail Demir.

The sides discussed the current state of military-technical relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey and prospects for future development, and exchanged views on the topic.

Madat Guliyev informed the guest that the Ministry of Defense Industry was established in 2005 on the personal initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, a worthy successor of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, in order to maintain a high level of combat readiness of the Armed Forces. He added that the two brotherly countries have close military-technical cooperation, as well as cooperation in many areas. The Minister reminded Turkey was with us during the 44-day Patriotic War, which ended with the great victory of our people, and praised the moral and political support of the friendly country to our state.

According to Guliyev, the sincere relations between the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan laid the foundation for the further development of centuries-old friendly ties between the two brotherly countries.

In the end, Ismail Demir thanked Minister Madat Guliyev for the warm welcome. The meeting continued with an exchange of views.
