The official visit of the Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev to Italy continues, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry.
During the visit, the Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army held a meeting with Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano, who currently serves as the Secretary General of Defense/National Armaments Director.
Colonel General Karim Valiyev congratulated Lieutenant General Luciano Portolano on his appointment as the Chief of Defense of the Italian Armed Forces and wished him success in the new position.
The meeting discussed further expansion of military-technical cooperation between the two countries and a range of other issues. The sides expressed confidence on successful continuation of cooperation.
Then, the Azerbaijani military delegation visited the Italian Joint Operations Command (JOC) and was informed about the activities of command.
