Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Turkish National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar during his official Ankara visit, Report's local bureau informs, citing the Georgian Ministry of Defense.
The meeting focused on issues of strengthening defense cooperation between the two countries.
Garibashvili thanked Turkey for its support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He informed the Turkish side of the reforms carried out in the field of the Georgian Defense Forces.
The sides also discussed the importance of cooperation between Turkey and Georgia in the field of military education and further deepening ties in the area. During the meeting, the sides paid special attention and stressed the importance of Azerbaijani-Georgian-Turkish cooperation in the field of defense. During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on defense cooperation and plans between Georgia and Turkey.
