Azerbaijan establishes checkpoint on border with Armenia, at beginning of Lachin-Khankandi road

Units of the Azerbaijani State Border Service set up a border checkpoint on the sovereign territories of Azerbaijan, on the border with Armenia, at the beginning of the Lachin-Khankandi road, at 12:00 (GMT +4) on April 23, Report informs, citing the State Border Service.

The state service noted that it was a response to Armenia’s recent actions in violation of the tripartite Statement of November 10, 2020, such as illegally transferring manpower, ammunition, mines, as well as other military equipment to the Armenian armed formations on the territory of Azerbaijan, and unilaterally establishing a border checkpoint at the entrance to the Lachin-Khankandi road on the border with Azerbaijan on April 22.

The Azerbaijani State Border Service said that the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and the Russian-Turkish Monitoring Center were informed about the move.
