Anar Eyvazov: Tartar-Aghdara road is being cleared of mines

The Tartar-Aghdara road, through which the mythical “Ohanyan barrier” crosses, is being cleared of mines, Anar Eyvazov, Head of the Press Service Department of the Ministry of Defense, told Report.

According to him, the Tartar-Aghdara road is the road in the direction of the settlements that were liberated after anti-terrorist measures: "During the 30-year occupation, combat positions were placed on this road. The ‘Ohanyan barrier’, mythologized by Armenia, passed through this road. Barbed wires and anti-tank obstacles were placed on the barrier. There are quite a lot of landmines in these areas. Also, during the occupation, separatist combat positions were located here."

Eyvazov said that the communication lines were put into use after the positions were cleared of separatists: "Currently, the road has been cleared of mines and opened for traffic, but the area has not been completely cleared of mines. Anti-tank obstacles and remotely controlled mines have also been placed in these areas."
