Turkish media widely cover opening ceremony of COP29 leaders' summit

Turkish TV channel Haber Global has extensively covered the opening ceremony of the leaders summit at the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, Report informs.

The TV channel presented a story "How will the climate crisis be financed?" The story notes that the conference aims to achieve progress in jointly combating the crisis caused by climate change.

It is noted that COP29 will create an important platform for discussing collective steps to remove obstacles, mainly economic ones, for countries in achieving climate goals.

"Research shows that for developing countries, excluding China, climate financing needs to increase annually to $2.4 trillion by 2030, with $1 trillion required for clean energy investments alone," the TV channel reports.

Additionally, Haber Global also wrote about UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres's speech. The article emphasizes his thought that the world needs a new climate financing goal.

"The world must pay its climate financing debt, or humanity will pay for it. Climate financing is an investment, not charity. Climate action is an obligation, not a choice," the UN Secretary-General emphasized.
