Reporter Ulviyya Shamilgızı buried in Ganja - PHOTO

Baku. 25 January. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani journalist Ulviyya Shamilgizi (Mammadova) hit by a car in Astrakhan Oblast, Russia was buried today in the cemetery of Ganja city.

Report informs, dead body of the reporter was delivered to Azerbaijan today and buried in the cemetery of Ganja city.

Family members, relatives and journalist colleagues of the deceased participated in the funeral.

The accident occurred on the 1378th km of Tambov-Volgograd-Astrakhan highway in Trusovsk district of Astrakhan, January 23.

According to the Astrakhan Oblast Police Department of the Russian Ministry of Interior Affairs, U. Shamilgizi was hit by 30-year-old driver on Volkswagen Passat car. The fatality occurred on unregulated pedestrian crossing.

The investigation department of Astrakhan oblast initiated a procedure check.

Ulviyya Shamilgizi, who worked for Azerbaijani media for a long time, acted at a number of media outlets, including newspaper “Xalq Cəbhəsi” (Popular Front), and Report News Agency. During the period of activity, she was repeatedly winner and prize holder of competitions among journalists. U. Shamilgizi had lived in Astrakhan, Russia since last year to continue her education.
