Prosecutor General's Office issues warnings to some media

Baku. 23 November. REPORT.AZ/ In the course of the investigation launched by the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office found that, in recent years a number of media violated Articles 10 and 11 of the Law "On mass media", spreading unverified groundless, slanderous information about the various government agencies, their leaders, employees, as well as about criminal cases investigated by the Prosecutor General's Office.

Report informs, the information released by the Prosecutor General's Office says.

In this regard, the leaders of the Independent News Agency (Mia.az), Cumhuriyyət, Qaynarinfo, Gündəminfo, Criminal.az, Strateq.az, İstiqlal.az, the Center for Journalism Studies (JAM.az) and other media have been invited to the Prosecutor General where in accordance with Art. 22 of the Law "On Prosecutor's Office," was made a formal warning to stop the spread of untrue, biased and defamatory information.

'If they will continue to spread such biased information, in regard with them to be taken serious measures in accordance with the law', the information declares.
