Peruvian media talk on Azerbaijan's rich culture

One of Peru's well-known and popular online magazines, Lima Gris, has published an article titled "The Rich Cultural Life of Azerbaijan," dedicated to the history, culture, and art of this country, Report informs.

The article provides detailed information about Azerbaijan's ancient traditions, its archaeological and historical monuments, including ancient settlements in the Azikh Cave, rock paintings of Gobustan, the Ateshgah Fire Temple, and the Gala State Historical-Ethnographic Reserve, which are examples of the country's rich heritage.

Special attention is given to folklore, which reflects values such as heroism and wisdom. The article mentions epic works such as "Oguznama," "Koroglu," and "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud," as well as the role of ashugs in their preservation. The special place of the bayati genre in Azerbaijan's oral literature is also noted. The author emphasizes that Azerbaijan's musical traditions date back 4,000 years.

In particular, mugham - a musical genre included in UNESCO's list of intangible cultural heritage - is mentioned, along with its important role in the country's culture. Traditional Azerbaijani dances are also noted.
