Nakhchivan occupies an important place in the formation of the general information space of Azerbaijan, Kamran Hasanov, the head of the Media Sector of the Department of Work with Non-Governmental Organizations and Communications of the Presidential Administration, said at the Global Information Environment and Media Trends Conference - MEDIAFEST-2025, held in Nakhchivan on May 30, Report informs.
According to Hasanov, the demands of the digital age, the impact of artificial intelligence on the media sector, the fight against disinformation, and the growing role of social media require greater professionalism and flexibility from journalists:
"Today, Azerbaijani media faces the task of defending the interests of our country not only to the domestic audience, but also in the international information space. This necessitates the training of a new generation of journalists, increasing media literacy, and the application of innovative technologies in the press."
Hasanov said that in recent years, important steps have been taken in the socio-economic development of the republic, the promotion of its cultural heritage, and the integration of Nakhchivan media into the country's overall media strategy:
"I am confident that today's event will give a new impetus to this process and the further development of Nakhchivan media."
