Journalists from Turkic Council states get acquainted with demining process in Fuzuli

Journalists from the Turkic council members and observer states are on a visit to the liberated Fuzuli region.

According to the Report's correspondent in Fuzuli, foreign media representatives got acquainted with the demining work carried out in the area.

ANAMA employee Natig Asadov told journalists that demining operations are carried out in three ways in the "Garga Bazaar" area of Fuzuli region.

"Currently, the road from Fuzuli to Jabrayil region is being cleared of landmines. So far, 174 low and high caliber ammunition have been found in the area. Demining operations are underway in the territories. I think that the mine-clearance of the 12 km long road will be completed in a week.

According to him, Armenians deliberately planted mines and set various traps as they were withdrawing from these territories after being defeated in the war.

"Our goal is to clear the area of mines and ensure the safe return of Azerbaijani citizens to these areas," he said.

Notably, the journalists from Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Hungary are visiting these areas as part of the "Media Tour to Azerbaijan."

Later, foreign media representatives will visit the liberated Jabrayil region and the city of Shusha.
