Haber Global prepares report on Azerbaijani president's speech at COP29 opening ceremony

Turkish TV channel Haber Global has prepared a report about Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the opening ceremony of the leaders summit of the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference (COP29), Report informs.

The coverage notes that Azerbaijan is hosting an important event of such a major international organization as the UN for the first time in its history.

The report covered important points from Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev's speech. It was particularly emphasized that the head of state responded to several accusations made against Azerbaijan.

"And if, then some Western politicians and media called us a petrostate, that would probably have been acceptable. But when they call us a petrostate now, today, this is not fair, and it only demonstrates a lack of political culture and knowledge. Today, Azerbaijan's share in global oil production is 0.7, in global gas production is 0.9%, but the fake news media of the country, which is the number one oil and gas producer in the world and produces 30 times more oil than Azerbaijan, calls us a petrostate. They have better look at themselves, or at least at their neighbor, which produces 10 times more oil than Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan’s share in global gas emissions is only 0.1%," he noted.

The report also extensively covers Azerbaijan's and its leader's important role in shaping the global climate agenda.
