Gurban Yaguboglu at Report Media School: Our language - our strategic point

Writing is humankind's greatest and most mystical discovery, writer-publicist journalist Gurban Yaguboglu said at a meeting with students of Report Media School.

Like the importance of Karabakh, our written language is our strategic point, he added.

Gurban Yaguboglu shared his professional experience with young journalists and noted that every news is a document:

"A journalist's writing becomes a document over time. That is, the reader of the news is not only the current generation but also the future generation. If a journalist can write information, they meet the basic requirements of the profession. It is important to write news because, in this case, the journalist is not based on his fantasy but on fact."

The publicist also emphasized that language is the most important attribute of the national society: "A journalist is a protector of language. It is not enough to preserve the spoken language, the written language must also be developed, and the journalist must know its style."

Gurban Yaguboglu, born in 1968 in Col Goyler village of Shamakhi, celebrated his 55th anniversary yesterday.

He has been a member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union since 1994. In 2000, he received a Presidential scholarship as a young poet. In 2015, on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the Azerbaijani press, he was awarded the Taraggi medal for his work in the field of journalism. Currently, he is the editor of Teleqraf.com.
