The European Union Delegation in Azerbaijan has organized a three-day training for journalists in Gusar district, Report informs.
The main topic of the training was the problem of media literacy and the fight against misinformation in the media.
Professor of the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) Tina Tsomaia discussed with the participants of the training the main aspects of media literacy, spoke about different types of disinformation and malinformation.
Felipe Pathe Duarte, assistant professor at the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security (Lisbon), conducted a training "Using Social Media as a Weapon."
An expert on conflict coverage and journalism in extreme situations, freelance journalist Seymur Kazimov discussed with the participants of the training such a topic as "Indicators of media literacy of the Azerbaijani population", as well as the problem of fake news and ways to combat it.
At the end of the training, the participants were awarded certificates.
