Editor-in-chief: Specialized personnel is needed in journalism

Azerbaijani journalism needs specialized personnel, Timur Huseynov, the editor-in-chief of Caliber.az information and analytical portal, said at a meeting with students of Report Media School.

The editor-in-chief emphasized that the journalist's high professionalism is the main issue for building a successful career in the future: "In the 2000s, we thought that the journalist earned little. At the moment, I don't think that a good journalist will face the problem of low income."

Huseynov noted that journalism is not a comfortable profession.

"The difficulty of our profession is related to the lack of comfort. When choosing journalism, we should know that this work is far from the meaning of quietly working in the office from 9 to 6. You can be called to work at any time, even on a holiday or on a day off. Although it is difficult, it is interesting," he said.

Timur Huseynov graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at Baku State University in 2005. He has been working as a journalist since 2003. Until 2009, he headed the social department of the Day.az website. Since 2010, he is the editor-in-chief of the Armenia.Az website. Since 2021, he has been serving as the editor-in-chief of the Caliber.az information-analytical portal.
