Azerbaijani journalists visited the international tourist center Silk Road Samarkand as part of a media tour of Uzbekistan.
According to Report's correspondent reports from Samarkand, the journalists were introduced to one of Uzbekistan's largest tourism projects, created to accommodate foreign tourists, host international forums and business events, and develop event tourism.
The center features hotels, a congress center, recreational and entertainment facilities, as well as other tourist spaces.
The media tour participants also familiarized themselves with the center's capabilities for hosting various events and organizing cultural programs for guests. In particular, workshops are held here, allowing tourists to learn about Uzbekistan's traditional crafts and culture.
One such venue is a workshop producing traditional Samarkand paper. The journalists were shown the process of making the paper - from preparing the raw materials to producing the finished sheets - and were also told about the history and traditions of this craft, which has survived in the region.
