Azerbaijani journalist Hamid Hamidov holds lecture for Ukrainian students

Azerbaijani journalist and media director of Global Media Group Hamid Hamidov gave a lecture for students and teachers of the Ukrainian Sumy State University, Report informs.

During the online meeting, Hamid Hamidov spoke on the topic "Ukrainian-Azerbaijani cooperation in the media sector in wartime."

The moderator of the event was the curator of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani projects, journalist Marina Goncharuk.

Opening the online meeting, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of History of Sumy State University Anatoly Goncharenko spoke about interesting pages in the history of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani dialogue, noted the importance of communication between students and opinion makers in Azerbaijan, which will allow them to learn more about the friendly people who strongly support Ukraine.

Hamid Hamidov spoke about the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in media and journalism, noting that this process has intensified and is developing more productively in recent years.

The Media Director of Global Media Group spoke about Azerbaijan's experience in combating disinformation, as well as working with international media platforms in wartime.

“During the 2020 Karabakh War, Ukrainians learned about many Azerbaijani experts, journalists and officials whose comments were published in the Ukrainian media, and we also have an interest in information from opinion leaders in Ukrainian society. I think that cooperation between the expert community and journalists of our countries is built primarily on personal contacts and practical activities, joint and systematic projects,” Hamid Hamidov noted.

Hamid Hamidov also answered the questions of students and teachers who were interested in the geopolitical situation around Azerbaijan.
