Anar Azizov at Report Media School: News should not tire readers

It is necessary to convey the news in such a way that people do not get tired of reading it, the director general of Interfax-Azerbaijan Information Agency, Anar Azizov, said in a meeting with students of Report Media School, Report informs.

"A journalist should present information in such a way that it is understandable for a common man," he stressed.

Azizov said that the news agency has certain standards that a journalist must follow. Speaking about the principle of “Scissors”, the director-general emphasized the importance of presenting the news as simply and briefly as possible so that the information is both concise and informative.

Addressing the problems of modern journalism, Azizov also noted the role of the news headline:

"The headline is a problem for us. The title should not be long and should not scare the reader. It should be consistent and concise."

Azizov noted the importance of journalists to establish contact with information sources in order to prepare exclusive news or reports.

"A journalist should not be selfish, should understand the interviewee's mood, gain his sympathy and should not reveal anonymous sources. As a person, they can have problems, so you need to learn how to treat others properly," he said.
