Books about Latvia donated to Azerbaijan National Library

The Latvian Embassy has donated books about Latvia to the Mirza Fatali Akhundov National Library of Azerbaijan, Report informs.

Charge d’Affaires of Latvia in Azerbaijan Vija Busa met with Director of the library Karim Tahirov, where she presented books about her country.

“The Latvian Embassy decided to donate books to us and we are happy to add them to the exposition about Latvia, which is in our library. Such cooperation once again speaks of the friendship of our peoples and fraternal relations. These books will be a gift not only for the library, but also for our readers, because they will be able to get acquainted with the history, culture and traditions of Latvia through these books,” said the director of the library.

Vija Busa said that it was decided to donate these books to many libraries around the world within the 100th anniversary of Latvia’s independence, which will be celebrated on November 18. Busa expressed confidence that such initiatives will further strengthen cooperation between the countries.

Tahirov, in turn, presented the embassy with several new books about Azerbaijan.
