Zakir Hasanov: Provocations have always ended very badly for Armenian armed forces

Armenia's illegal armed formations have absolutely no chance against the army of Azerbaijan. They are only capable of committing petty provocations, Azerbaijan's Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov said in an interview with CBC, Report informs.

"Our assessments of capabilities of the illegal Armenian formations that remained on the territory of the Karabakh economic zone of Azerbaijan are not high. We know their numbers, their weapons, their moral and psychological state, we know what they are capable of. I assure you that, as President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev noted, they have absolutely no chance of carrying out any measures against the Azerbaijani army. There may be some small provocations that end very badly for them," the minister said.

According to him, after the 2020 war, the Azerbaijani army carried out approximately six major operations on the conditional border with Armenia, as a result of which the Armenian army suffered heavy losses both in manpower and equipment, and Azerbaijan occupied strategic heights.

The defense minister noted that, having such a strategic advantage, Azerbaijan created a powerful fire system and powerful engineering structures there, which make it possible to have operational advantages.

"Their provocations have always ended very badly for the Armenian armed forces," Hasanov added.
