Vardanyan admits Lachin road not blocked

While Armenians claim that the Lachin road is blocked, Armenian separatist and tycoon Ruben Vardanyan has admitted that Russian peacekeepers supply some food.

Vardanyan made the statement in an interview with Byline Times, thereby admitting that there was no 'blockade' of the Lachin road.

"In an interview with the Byline Times, Ruben Vardanyan has said the Russian peacekeepers are supplying some food. It’s still insufficient, but if true, and many have wondered, it’s the first time it’s been officially said. No reason to doubt this, of course, but if true, then it's just come out of the blue, possibly because this is also the first time a journalist actually asked. There's certainly been larger and larger Russian convoys passing via Lachin, but these words are sudden and unexpected," Armenian journalist Onnik J. Krikorian said on his Twitter page.

Over 20 vehicles belonging to the Russian peacekeepers pass through the Lachin road every day, which shows that the road is open for humanitarian purposes.

The protest on the Khankandi-Lachin road against the illegal exploitation of the natural deposits in the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan continues for already the 27th day.
