Uzbekistan to build school in Karabakh as gift for Azerbaijani people

“Members of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-speaking States (Turkic Council) will take an active part in the restoration of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan,” Asadjon Khojaev, director of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, said during his visit to Azerbaijan’s Aghdam, Report informs.

According to Khojaev, Uzbekistan has already offered its assistance to participate in the restoration process:

“At present, we are defining a list of facilities with specialists in the restoration of which we will participate, and as far as I know, there is an agreement on the construction of one school, which will be a gift from Uzbekistan to the Azerbaijani people. The list of such facilities is being determined and agreed upon, and the fruits of this cooperation will soon be visible.”

A delegation of the Turkic Council visited Azerbaijan's Aghdam, liberated last fall from the Armenian occupation, on April 11.

The delegation of ministers and high-ranking officials paid a visit to the Imarat cemetery in Aghdam, where the graves of the Karabakh Khanate's Azerbaijani Turkic nobility, including its khans, are located.

Then the officials visited the Juma Mosque in the city, built in 1868-1870 by the Azerbaijani architect Karbalai Safikhan Garabaghi.
