The opening ceremony of the memorial fountain on the tombstone of martyred journalist Maharram Ibrahimov was held at the Mushvigabad cemetery in Baku, Report informs.
The event was attended by family members, friends, and others.
First, the memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence.
Then flowers were laid at the martyr's grave.
Speaking at the event, the brother of the martyred journalist Maharram Ibrahimov, journalist Asgar Ibrahimov noted that today is the day of the liberation of Kalbajar.
"The cold weather also reminds me of Kalbajar. On such a day, we are inaugurating the memorial fountain on the tomb of journalist Maharram Ibrahimov, who was killed in Kalbajar."
On June 4, 2021, at about 11:00 (GMT+4), a KamAZ passenger car carrying a group of journalists to the liberated Kalbajar district in connection with their journalist duties was hit by an anti-tank mine in the district's Susuzlug village.
As a result, three media representatives - AzerTag correspondent Maharram Ibrahimov, Azerbaijan Television operator Siraj Abishov and Kalbajar District Executive Power Deputy Representative for Susuzlug village Arif Aliyev - were killed.
Throughout his journalistic career, Maharram Ibrahimov had always been at the forefront of the information war as a military reporter, preparing reports from the frontline and other areas of Azerbaijan.
After his death, Maharram Ibrahimov was awarded the 3rd degree "For Service to the Fatherland" order by President Ilham Aliyev.
