Shoigu speaks about Turkish-Russian joint monitoring center

"If we talk about relations with Turkey, we have a complicated, but very effective, cooperation. It is difficult because of restrictions. Turkey's membership in NATO also restricts it. But I would say that it is an unprecedented experience, one country is a member of NATO, and the other is not," Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said in an interview with Tengrinews, Report informs.

According to him, Russia and Turkey can find compromises where it seems impossible:

"For example, the Idlib de-escalation zone. In general, the creation of such zones in Syria, in our opinion, is a new page and a new mechanism for resolving such conflicts. We are also fighting terrorists together and regulate and control many checkpoints. We deal with refugees. "

Shoigu also spoke about the Turkish-Russian Joint Monitoring Center:

"I'd like to call it a complicated operation, because, it includes many arguments, elements, and motives," he said.
