Russian MoD: Lachin HPP has resumed operation

Russian peacekeepers continue to help restore peace in Nagorno-Karabakh as part of the trilateral statement signed on November 10, Report informs, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.

As a result of the agreement reached in November, the machine room of the Lachin Hydroelectric Power Plant came under the control zone of responsibility of Russian peacekeepers, while the dam of the hydroelectric power station under the control of Azerbaijan.

According to the information, with the support of the Russian peacekeeping contingent's command, the hydroelectric power plant resumed operation. Currently, Russian peacekeepers provide security and unimpeded access for engineers to work on junctions and processes at power plants.

It will provide electricity to the city of Khankendi, as well as nearby settlements.
