Russian expert: Taking Lachin under full control - Azerbaijan's great success

Taking the Lachin city under the full control by the Azerbaijani side is a great success, predetermined by the tripartite agreement of November 2020, Russian political scientist Yevgeny Mikhailov said in an interview with the correspondent of Report's Russian bureau.

The expert noted that Yerevan planned to delay the fulfillment of commitments to Baku and Moscow: "Armenia failed to play through Brussels and delay what was inevitable. In any case, at this stage, despite the dissatisfaction of the Armenian side and its claims to Moscow, everything that happens should have taken place earlier, but the games of Armenian politicians delayed this process," Mikhailov believes.

The political scientist clarified what awaits Armenia if Yerevan does not comply with the terms of the tripartite agreements: “In my opinion, despite the recent statements by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that Yerevan is surrounded by hostile states with which Russia’s historical ally is more friends than with Yerevan, all this political whining will not allow avoiding further implementation of trilateral agreements, and it is only a matter of time before the Armenians realize the need to sign a peace treaty with Baku," the Russian expert stressed.
