Russia expects that in the near future it will be possible to launch practical work on the delimitation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a weekly briefing, the Russian bureau of Report informs.
Zakharova stressed that Moscow is in favor of creating a bilateral commission on the delimitation of the border with its subsequent demarcation with the advisory assistance of Russia: “With the start of the work of the commission, as was enshrined following the statement of the trilateral talks of the leaders in Sochi on November 26 last year, it is necessary to take steps to increasing the level of stability and security on the border of the two countries,” she concluded.
Zakharova noted that at the last meeting in Dushanbe, the Azerbaijani and Armenian partners informed that they were close to completing the process of forming a national delegation, and Russia had already formed its expert team.
