We were worried that our protest was presented in a different format at the meeting of the UN Security Council, Protestor Gamza Yusubova - Chairperson of the Environmental Education and Monitoring Public Union, member of the Public Council under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, told Report.
According to her, at the meeting of the UN Security Council, the peaceful action of the Azerbaijani side was presented in different ways by several countries:
"Our protest has been going on for several days. The world community can be confused if the issue's essence is not properly conveyed to them. Unfortunately, we also witnessed double standards at the UN Security Council meeting. Just as they turned a blind eye to Armenia's policy of aggression against Azerbaijan for 30 years, they are now turning a blind eye to environmental terrorism, presenting those who oppose this terrorism differently. Our resources in our liberated lands are looted and ecology is damaged. This arbitrariness must be stopped. If the Armenian population in Karabakh has problems, we are ready to support them. We agree to live in the same areas together, Azerbaijan is a tolerant country. We are a peaceful nation."
Yusubova appealed to international organizations: "Be in solidarity with our action, hear our just voice."
