Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has made it clear that Karabakh's status is not on the agenda now, Russian expert on interethnic conflicts, political scientist Yevgeny Mikhailov said, Report informs.
"Russia heard the opinion of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev that Karabakh is Azerbaijan, and I believe that in the future if it will be possible to speak of a certain status, then it will be only as part of Azerbaijan and nothing else," the expert noted.
According to Mikhailov, the issue of status has been settled.
Now Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is not escalating the situation with direct statements. He, as a diplomat, clearly makes it clear to the Armenian side that the status of Karabakh has virtually been exhausted as a political issue, and it can be considered only in the context of Azerbaijan's conditions," added the political scientist.
