Political expert: Armenia will be brought to account for caused damage

Armenia, as the initiator of military actions in the territory of Azerbaijan for the caused damage, must be brought to account, political expert Tofig Abbasov told Report.

The expert noted that the Armenian vandalism affected the cultural and historical heritage of the region and its ecological sphere. And in this sense, Azerbaijan has all the legal mechanisms to resolve the issue.

"Armenian radicals still think that returning to the past is possible, but it will never happen. President Ilham Aliyev is doing everything to revive Karabakh, clear the region of mines and return our citizens to their native lands. New facilities are being laid; new communications are under construction, infrastructural projects are being implemented successfully. It is the biggest signal not only for Armenia but also for the entire international community. There will be no return to the past," Abbasov said, adding that if Armenians continue provocations, they will get what they deserve.

The expert noted that there are mechanisms and models regulated by international organizations, and there is a notion of a war indemnity to compensate for the damage.

"We will have enough physical and legal powers and legal mechanisms to work on our further actions in full and in compliance with the norms and bring the warmonger to account. But in this case, much will depend on what official Yerevan will do. So far, it is unable to get rid of the chain of external patrons, having virtually lost its individuality and turning into a cartographic category," Abbasov said, "Armenia should prove to all the neighbors that it can come to the policy of good neighborship."

He said all reconstruction works to restore the region create broad opportunities to develop tourism.
