Participant of protest on Shusha-Khankendi road: If Andrey Volkov comes, our demands will be conveyed to him

"If Andrey Volkov comes here, demand for conducting monitoring by both ecologists and NGOs in the Azerbaijani territories, where peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, will be presented to him," Chairman of the Legal Analysis and Research NGO Ramil Iskandarli, who joined the protest held in the Karabakh economic district on the part of the Shusha-Khankendi road, which is under the temporary control of Russian peacekeepers, demanding an end to environmental terrorism, said in his statement to Report.

According to him, the movement of vehicles in the Lachin corridor has been stopped, and the activists are putting forward their demands:

"The main reason for today's protest of the Azerbaijani NGOs is a demand to conduct monitoring of the environmental situation in the territories of Azerbaijan, where Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily stationed, as well as the possible damage to the environment caused by the illegal exploitation of minerals in the Kyzylbulag, Demirli gold and copper-molybdenum deposits. First of all, the protestors demand that the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, Andrey Volkov, come here and express their objections to him personally. That is why we protest by gathering on the road of Lachin."
