Nikol Pashinyan speaks on restoration of road connection with Azerbaijan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has spoken about the possibility of a road connection with Azerbaijan, Report informs, citing Sputnik Armenia.

He made the remarks during a visit to the Georgian capital, Tbilisi.

"There is already a fundamental agreement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on the railway connection. The matter is about the restoration of the Arazdayan-Julfa-Ordubad-Megri-Horadiz railway. We hope to complete this project in 2-3 years," Pashinyan said.

In his opinion, it is necessary to work on the implementation of the hammered-out agreements.

The prime minister also stressed the possibility of restoring a motor road connection with Azerbaijan: “I want to inform you that at the end of the November 2021 Sochi meeting, mediated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, and the December 14, 2021, meeting under the aegis of European Union Council President Charles Michel, we have gained an opportunity on the restoration of a motor road connection with Azerbaijan.”

Nikol Pashinyan attended a meeting of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission on economic and trade cooperation in Tbilisi.
