Mevlut Cavusoglu: I hope Armenia will draw a lesson from it

"We want the South Caucasus to become a region of stability and peace. Armenia and the Armenian people would benefit most of all, since for many years Armenia has distanced, isolated itself," Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said at a briefing ahead of the Diplomatic Forum in Antalya.

"As a result of Armenia's mistake, its relations with neighbors are not very good. I hope that Armenia will draw a lesson from it, and peace and stability will be established in the region. Naturally, in conditions of peace and stability, there will be economic growth and prosperity, remarkable projects, which are now being discussed, including land roads, railways, transport, logistics, and trade, will be implemented. As I said several years ago, Armenia will benefit most of all, we will all benefit," the Foreign Minister said.

He noted that the Azerbaijani army liberated its lands after the 44-day war: "Everyone must respect the inviolability of Azerbaijani borders and its territorial integrity. For many years Azerbaijan has demonstrated patience for the sake of the diplomatic solution of this issue. But, unfortunately, none of the initiatives launched to this end was sufficient for the liberation of the Azerbaijani lands. Certainly, Azerbaijan's patience is not unlimited, and everything needed was done. Azerbaijan has liberated its lands."
