Member of Mexican Chamber of Deputies condemns Armenian provocation 

A member of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies issued a statement condemning the military provocations committed by the Armenian army in the direction of the Tovuz region of Azerbaijan, Report says, citing the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico.

The statement issued on behalf of the President of the Mexico-Azerbaijan Friendship Group of the Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the Union of Mexico, Agustín García Rubio, sharply condemns the attacks by the Armenian armed to the Azerbaijani positions in Tovuz region starting July 12.

The statement reads that as a result of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Armenian armed forces occupied the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and seven surrounding regions.

The article urges Armenia and Azerbaijan to refrain from such military escalations and give impetus to the substantive negotiations mediated by the OSCE Minsk Group.

Moreover, Mexico expressed its support to the settlement of the conflict within the international law, compliance with the ceasefire regime in the conflict zone, and implementation of four UN Security Council resolutions demanding respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

In conclusion, the statement offered condolences to the people and the Azerbaijan government for the dead servicemen and wish a speedy recovery to the wounded.
