Markov: East Zangazur economic region to give serious stimulus to development

"Azerbaijan has gained both military and diplomatic victory. The territories were liberated during the 44-day war. Naturally, it is now necessary to reclaim these lands, return them to people for them to build a normal life. Economic development and restoration of Karabakh is necessary as a single region for more effective, quick and balanced recovery," Russian political scientist, director of the Center of political studies Sergey Markov told Report's Russian bureau, commenting on creating the Eastern Zangazur economic region.

According to the expert, balanced development of the region, including also the development of agriculture and modern production, is necessary, and in this sphere, Azerbaijan can benefit from the use of the world experience.

"The complex development of the region is significant and can become a very serious stimulus to the economy. Armenians have lost. Any protests of the Armenian leadership is today a certain echo of the past situation, zombielike statements, and envy," Markov said.
