Latvia unequivocally supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity

"Azerbaijan is one of the most important countries for Latvia in terms of a partnership. Therefore, the role of this country in the international arena is always in the center of our attention in all respects," Alexander Kirstein, a member of the Latvian Saeima (Parliament), told Report's European bureau.

Commenting on Armenia's escalating military provocations against Azerbaijan, the MP stressed that Latvia is opposite any military invasion: "The OSCE Minsk Group is working on this issue, and we support this mission. We want this purpose to yield concrete results soon and the region's tension to be resolved once and for all. Latvia unequivocally supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Regarding the coronavirus pandemic, Kirstein said that COVID-19 also put the world before the most decisive economic test in history:

"Latvia is reducing losses through several measures. The state is also concerned about the economic situation of the population, mainly based on human health. We are glad that our friends, countries like Azerbaijan, are coming out of the pandemic with minimal losses and maintaining economic stability. Of course, the mechanism of Azerbaijan that led to these results is also interesting for us."
